Hall of Fame Inductees

 

Elwood Haynes (1857 – 1925)

For pioneering development of the automobile and stainless steels.

                 

Dr. Nicholas Joseph Pagano (1933)

For goundbreaking contributions in Modeling Performance of Composite Materials.

 

Dr. Richard Errett Smalley (1943 – 2005)

For discovery and characterization of Fullerenes; and Advocacy for Nanotechnology. 

                             

A reception and dinner was held at the historic Engineers Club of Dayton, at 6 p.m., Wednesday November 9. The induction ceremonies for 2022 immediately followed.  
 
The next morning, Thursday, November 10, middle school and high school students who are keen on science and engineering  heard from the inductees/representatives. Tours of the Engineers Cub building and Hall of Fame began at 9:15 AM before the lectures. This program concluded by noon.

The Engineering and Science Hall of Fame® is hosted inside the Engineers Club of Dayton located in Dayton, Ohio.  Dayton is the home of the Wright brothers' aeronautical exploits and many other advances in science and engineering.

The Hall of Fame provides a centralized location for honoring engineers and scientists for their global achievements. The trustees of the Hall of Fame have a long-term commitment to keep alive the memory of those engineers' and scientists'  great beneficial impact on humanity.
