Special Student Recognition

November 14, 2024 – Ms. Dasia TaylorSpecial Student Lecture Recognition

——

We are also pleased to have Ms. Dasia Taylor coming to present at the Student Lectures. Now a college sophomore, Dasia as a high schooler developed cost effective surgical sutures that change color when infection is present.  She is a strong advocate of STEM education.

Dasia is a trailblazing STEM advocate (M for medical technology), sneakerhead, and technology innovator who has been nationally recognized for her exceptional scientific achievements.  The Engineering and Science Hall of Fame(R) celebrates her invention of wound suture material that changes color if infection is present in the wound.  She invented this while in high school in Iowa.
