Nominations

Nominations for 2024 Induction are now closed.

Late nominations will be considered for 2026 Induction.

The Engineering and Science Hall of Fame(R) honors engineers and scientists who have made landmark contributions to the advancement of engineering and science for the enduring benefit of humanity. The ESHF perpetuates the memory of inductees by formally and publicly honoring their contributions, and by promoting an appreciation of their work, particularly among young persons as they prepare for careers in science, technology, engineering, and/or math (STEM).

Guidelines for Content of Nomination

The major contribution of nominees must be demonstrable for at least five years to assess the long-term significance of the work. Specific criteria used in the evaluation of nominations include:

1. Scope of impact:

Is it local, regional, national, or global?

2. Depth of accomplishment:

Is the work a major contribution to a field of science and/or engineering? Did it change the state-of the art in the field? If so, how?

3. Benefit:

Did accomplishment benefit the lives of many people in enduring and measurable ways (societal, economic, quality of life, etc.)?

4. Recognition:

How has the accomplishment been recognized (awards, honors, etc.)?

5. Inspiration:

How does the life and accomplishment of the nominee inspire an appreciation of a potential career in science, technology, engineering, or math among STEM students of all ages?
